Megan is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) in good standing with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors. She received her Masters in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University.
Megan provides support in the areas of anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, trauma, grief and loss, self-esteem issues, anger management, family conflict, and relationship difficulties.
Her approach to counselling comes naturally from a humanistic (client-centered) and emotion-focused orientation where she focuses on developing a strong therapeutic alliance and providing therapeutic interventions that are unique and specific to each client.
She believes that for many individuals, pulling aspects from different therapeutic approaches may be best in helping them reach their goals. When appropriate, she draws from the following approaches: cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, emotion-focused family therapy, and narrative therapy.
As clients continue in their therapeutic journey her ultimate desire and passion is to help individuals encounter Jesus Christ in new and deeper ways where positive change can happen in their lives for His glory.
Her goal is to provide a safe space for individuals so they can work towards healing, freedom, and victory in Christ.
Faith and Family
Megan has gone through many seasons where she has seen God at work not only in her own life but in the lives of many close to her. She has had many life experiences where God has continually made Himself known and has been the constant in her life. As she continues to grow in her own personal relationship with Christ she has become passionate in pointing individuals towards Christ in their journeys as they wrestle through life’s struggles. She feels honoured and blessed to be able to come alongside each individual as they journey with God through the counselling process.
Megan has been married to the love of her life, Jamie, for 17 years and they have 2 boys. When she is not working, she enjoys watching her boys play sports, spending time with family and friends and continually growing in her faith in God.
